Muscle Shoals is a city in northwest Alabama along the Tennessee River in a two county region known as the Shoals. The Shoals area is known for its music recording industry, as the birthplace of W. C. Handy, Father of the Blues, the birthplace of Helen Keller, and the home of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Muscle Shoals is home to the latest edition of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and surrounded by Pickwick Lake, Wilson Lake, and Wheeler Lake. Annual events include the Trail of Tears Motorcycle Ride, Recall LaGrange, Helen Keller Festival, W.C. Handy Music Festival, and the Alabama Renaissance Fair.
